Effective October 31, 2026
In short: Amen Clock has no account and shows no ads. Your alarms, your settings and the things you tell the App you are going through are kept on your phone and are never sent to us. There is nothing to write: the App reads to you and you say or tap “Amen”. Your voice is used only to hear you say “Amen”. Apple or Google handles all payments. We advertise Amen Clock on Facebook and Instagram: if you allow it, the App tells Meta when you install it, finish setup, see the subscription screen, and start, renew, cancel or are refunded for a trial or subscription, so our ads reach people likely to want it (section 9). You can turn this off at any time. Otherwise we receive personal information only when you choose to contact us, and we never sell it for money.
1. Who we are
Amen Clock (the “App”) and amenclock.com (the “Site”) are provided by Newron Robotics, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. Contact us at support@newronrobotics.com.
2. Information that stays on your phone
To work, the App stores on your device:
- your alarms (their times, days, names, sounds, snooze settings and whether each is on), your chosen Bible translation, the language you chose for the App (English or Spanish), whether you use the morning alarm, the evening screen lock or both, and whether you have finished setup;
- your morning, devotional and evening streaks, and how many times you have said “Amen”;
- what you tell the App you are working through (for example anxiety, grief, health, money, marriage or work), and the tone you choose. These are used only to choose your morning devotional;
- whether you finished each evening reflection, and whether and when you want your evening reminder;
- if you turn on the screen lock, which apps you chose to lock, the time it starts each evening, whether it is on, and whether you have finished the evening’s reflection.
We do not receive any of this. It is removed when you delete the App. On iPhone and iPad it is also included in your own iCloud or computer backups of your device, which you control; on Android the App excludes it from backups and device transfers.
3. Microphone and speech recognition
When your alarm rings, the App shows a verse, reads it aloud and asks you to say “Amen”. With your permission, it uses your phone’s microphone and the speech recognition built into your phone (Apple’s Speech framework on iPhone and iPad; the speech recognition service on your Android phone, usually Google’s) to hear that word.
- Listening happens only while the alarm’s verse screen is open, and stops when “Amen” is heard or you leave the screen.
- Where your phone supports on-device recognition, the App asks for it, so your audio does not leave your device.
- On phones without on-device support, your phone’s speech recognition provider processes the audio under its own privacy policy (Apple, or on Android the provider of your phone’s speech service, such as Google).
- We never record, store or receive your audio or transcripts.
You can turn off microphone or speech access at any time in your phone’s settings and type “Amen” instead.
4. Alarms, reminders, devotionals and the screen lock
Alarms. Alarms are scheduled on your phone (with Apple’s AlarmKit on iPhone and iPad and the system alarm service on Android) and run entirely on your device.
Reminders and notifications. Evening reminders (if you turn them on); on iPhone and iPad, a reminder to pray if you stop your morning alarm and don’t open the App (it stops as soon as you open the App); and the notification sent when you tap “Pray now” on a locked app are all local notifications created on your phone. We do not send push notifications and have no way to message your device.
Home Screen shortcuts. Holding the App’s icon shows shortcuts, one of which shows how many times you have said “Amen”. That number is read from your phone and is not sent anywhere.
Devotionals. The morning devotional is chosen on your phone from text and narration included in the App, using what you told the App you are working through. The narration (in English and Spanish) and the alarm music were created with AI voice and music tools; they are not recordings of a person. The evening reflection is a verse and a prayer from the App, read aloud to you; it asks you to write nothing.
Screen lock. Where this feature is available, if you turn it on, the App keeps the apps you chose locked each evening, from a time you choose, until you finish that evening’s reflection.
- On iPhone and iPad this uses Apple’s Screen Time. You choose the apps in a screen provided by Apple, and the App receives only anonymous tokens: it cannot see which apps you picked or anything you do in them.
- On Android this uses the “Usage access” and “Display over other apps” permissions. The App checks which app is on screen so that it can cover the ones you chose, and it reads the list of apps installed on your phone so you can choose them. This is used only on your device for the lock. It is never sent to us or anyone else, and no history of your app use is kept.
You can turn the screen lock off at any time in the App or in your phone’s settings, and it stops if your subscription ends.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store, or by Google through Google Play. We never see your name, payment card or account details. The store gives us limited transaction information, such as the plan bought, its dates, its price and the country of purchase, so we can confirm your subscription, provide support and keep financial records. The App checks your subscription status directly with the store on your device.
6. When you contact us
You can reach us by email, through the form on the Site, or from Settings › Contact support in the App. We receive your name, email address, topic and message. Messages sent from the App also include your App version, operating system version, phone model and whether your subscription is active, so we can help without back-and-forth. Nothing is sent from the App unless you tap Send. Forms are delivered by Formspree, Inc. (see Formspree’s Privacy Policy).
7. Sensitive information
Because Amen Clock is a Christian devotional app, the fact that you use it or contact us about it may suggest your religious beliefs. The App also lets you say what you are working through, which can include health, grief, money or your marriage. That information stays on your phone as described in section 2: we do not receive it, infer anything from it or share it, and it is never sent to Meta. We use information you send us only to answer you. If you allow ads measurement with Meta (section 9), Meta learns that you use a Christian app, which may suggest your religious beliefs; that is why we ask first. Where the law treats this as sensitive information, we rely on your explicit choice to enter it in the App, to contact us, or to allow ads measurement, and you can remove it by changing your choices, deleting the App, or asking us to delete your messages.
8. The Site
The Site uses no cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking. It is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, which processes standard technical information, such as IP addresses and browser details, to deliver and protect the Site.
9. Ads measurement with Meta
This section applies to Amen Clock 1.2 and later. Earlier versions do not include Meta’s SDK and send nothing to Meta.
The App shows no ads. We advertise Amen Clock on Facebook and Instagram, and the App includes Meta’s software development kit (SDK) so we can measure those ads and show them to people likely to want the App. Only if you allow it, the App sends Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited if you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland):
- that the App was installed and opened;
- that you finished setup;
- that the subscription screen was shown, and that you tapped to start a trial or subscribe, with the plan and its price;
- the events of your subscription, read from the App Store or Google Play on your phone: that a free trial started, that your first payment was made (straight away or when a trial ended), each renewal, that you turned off automatic renewal, and any refund, each with the plan, the amount and currency, and the store’s transaction identifiers. If the App isn’t opened for a while, these are sent the next time it is;
- with these, information Meta’s SDK collects about your device, such as its advertising identifier (on iPhone and iPad only if you allow tracking; the Android advertising ID on Android), model, operating system, App version and IP address.
On Android, the App sends only that it was installed and opened, that you finished setup, and that a trial or subscription started (with the plan, its price and currency, and Google Play’s purchase identifier), together with the device information above. The other events listed are sent only from iPhone and iPad.
Nothing you pray, read, say, type or tell the App, including what you are working through, is ever sent to Meta. Meta uses this information to tell us how our ads perform and to choose who sees them, under Meta’s Privacy Policy, and keeps it under its own retention practices.
When it’s on. Nothing is sent unless you say yes. On Android, the App asks everyone on a screen shown once after setup, and nothing is sent unless you choose “Allow”. On iPhone and iPad, nothing is sent unless you allow tracking when Apple asks; in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, if you allow tracking, the App then also asks on its own screen, and nothing is sent unless you choose “Allow” there too. For people in U.S. states with privacy laws, we ask Meta to apply its Limited Data Use setting. Separately, on iPhone and iPad, Apple’s own private ad attribution (SKAdNetwork) may tell Meta that one of our ads led to an install, without identifying you or your device; this is Apple’s system, and the App sends nothing for it.
Your choices. Turn it off at any time in the App at Settings › Privacy › Share with Meta for ads. On iPhone and iPad you can also turn off tracking in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s settings.
We do not sell or rent personal information for money. Apart from Meta’s SDK as described here, the App contains no advertising, analytics or tracking. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone or iPad settings, Apple may give us aggregated, anonymous usage and crash statistics.
10. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with these service providers, which process it on our behalf under contract and only as needed to run the App and Site, and, if you allow it, with Meta:
- Apple: App Store distribution, payments and speech recognition on iPhone and iPad (as described above).
- Google: Google Play distribution and payments, and speech recognition on Android phones that use Google’s service (as described above).
- Formspree: delivery of support messages.
- Google (Firebase Hosting): hosting the Site.
- Our email provider, to receive and answer your messages.
- Meta: measuring and targeting our ads, only if you allow it (section 9).
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, sale or reorganization of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply.
11. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we process personal information on these bases:
- Contract: to provide the App and your subscription.
- Legitimate interests: to answer support requests, keep the App and Site secure, and improve them, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation: to keep financial and tax records.
- Consent: microphone and speech recognition access, notifications, and (if you turn on the screen lock) Screen Time, usage access and display-over-other-apps access, each of which you grant and can withdraw in your phone’s settings; your explicit choice to enter sensitive information in the App or to contact us where information may reveal religious beliefs; and your explicit consent to ads measurement with Meta (section 9), which you can withdraw in Settings › Privacy.
12. How long we keep information
- Information on your phone: until you remove it in the App or delete the App. Copies in your own iPhone or iPad backups are kept under your backup settings.
- Support messages: up to 3 years after our last exchange, then deleted, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Transaction records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually up to 7 years.
- Site server logs: kept by Google for a limited period under its own retention practices.
- App events sent to Meta (only if you allow it): kept by Meta under its own retention practices. We do not receive or keep a copy that identifies you.
13. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum, or our providers’ certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions.
14. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- restrict or object to how we use it, or receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing; and
- complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
To make a request, email support@newronrobotics.com or use the support form and choose “Privacy request”. We will respond within the time the law requires (generally 30 days under the GDPR and 45 days under U.S. state laws). We may need to confirm your identity, usually by replying from the email address you used with us. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will review it and tell you the outcome.
15. U.S. state privacy notice
This section supplements the policy for residents of California and other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws. In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information, only from you or your device and only for the purposes described above: identifiers (name and email address, when you contact us); customer records (your messages); commercial information (subscription transaction records from Apple or Google); internet or network activity (Site server logs); and device information (App version, operating system version and phone model, when you contact us from the App). If you allow ads measurement (section 9), Meta also receives identifiers (your device’s advertising ID) and app activity (install, finished setup, viewing the subscription screen) and commercial information (trial, payments, renewals, cancellation and refunds). We use sensitive personal information, if any, only for purposes permitted by law, and not to infer characteristics about you. Sending app events and device identifiers to Meta to measure and target our ads (section 9) may be “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, or “targeted advertising”, under some state laws. This happens only if you opt in, as described in section 9, and you can turn it off at any time in the App at Settings › Privacy › Share with Meta for ads. We do not sell personal information for money, do not otherwise share it, and have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing information of anyone under 16. You will not be treated differently for exercising your rights.
16. Children
The App and Site are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
17. Security
We protect information with encrypted connections, access limited to people who need it, and providers that maintain industry-standard security. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach where the law requires.
18. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, give notice in the App or on the Site before they take effect.
