Effective October 31, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Newron Robotics, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“we”, “us”), covering the Amen Clock apps for iPhone, iPad and Android (the “App”) and amenclock.com (the “Site”). By downloading or using the App or Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.
If you got the App from the App Store, your use of it is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”); if these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict, the Apple EULA controls for the App. If you got the App from Google Play, your use of it is also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service.
1. The App
Amen Clock is an alarm clock that shows you a Bible verse, reads it aloud and asks you to say “Amen” to silence the alarm, with a short morning devotional, an evening verse and prayer, and, where available, an optional evening screen lock that keeps apps you choose locked until you finish the evening reflection. The App is available in English and Spanish. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, as permitted by the usage rules of the store you got it from. You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA and UK) to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the App only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
2. Subscriptions and free trials
- Some versions of the App, such as the App on iPhone and iPad, require a paid subscription for full use; others may be free. Where a subscription is needed, its plans and prices are shown in the App before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad. On Android, use Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under its policies. For Google Play, request a refund in Google Play. For Apple, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
- We may change subscription prices. Apple or Google will notify you of price increases as required, and you can cancel before the change takes effect.
3. Alarm and app-lock reliability
Amen Clock depends on your phone, its battery, its settings and its operating system to sound alarms. An alarm may not ring if your device is off or out of battery, if a required permission is turned off, if your phone’s battery-saving features stop the App, or because of software issues outside our control. On Android, whether an alarm sounds during Do Not Disturb depends on your phone’s settings. Do not rely on the App as your only alarm where oversleeping could cause harm, financial loss or missed obligations.
The optional screen lock is a self-discipline aid, not a parental control or security feature. It can be turned off at any time, may not block every app in every situation, and must not be relied on to restrict anyone’s use of a device. Do not lock apps you may need urgently. Emergency calling is never intended to be blocked.
4. Scripture texts, devotionals and narration
Verses are from the Berean Standard Bible, which is in the public domain; the King James Version, which is in the public domain in most countries; and, in Spanish, the Reina-Valera 1909, which is in the public domain, shown with modernized spelling. The devotional reflections and prayers are written for the App, and their Spanish versions are translations of them. The spoken narration (in English and Spanish) and alarm music were produced with AI voice and music tools and are not recordings of a person.
The App is a devotional aid. It is not a substitute for personal study or pastoral guidance, and nothing in it is medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice. If you are struggling, please talk to someone you trust or a qualified professional; in an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
5. Third-party services
The App relies on services from third parties, including Apple (the App Store, payments, alarms, Screen Time and speech recognition) and Google (Google Play, payments and, on many Android phones, speech recognition) and, only if you allow it, Meta (measuring our ads, as described in the Privacy Policy). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the App, except as the law allows; not to interfere with or disrupt the App or Site; and not to use them in violation of any law.
7. Intellectual property
The App and Site, including their design, artwork, code and the Amen Clock name and icon, are owned by Newron Robotics, LLC and protected by law. Public-domain Scripture texts remain in the public domain. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without obligation to you.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App and Site are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or that any alarm will sound.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from a missed or late alarm. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App or Site will not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.
10. Apple
If you got the App from the App Store, you and we acknowledge that:
- These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the App’s purchase price to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If a third party claims the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you.
11. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms. If we do, we will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, give notice in the App or on the Site. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept them. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms. You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it and cancelling your subscription.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise. Any dispute arising from these Terms, the App or the Site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may bring a claim in small claims court where eligible. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.
If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
13. General
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and, where it applies, the Apple EULA, are the entire agreement between you and us about the App and Site. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them as part of a merger, sale or reorganization. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including 7 through 13, will survive.
